How long will it take to receive an answer, or an order?
Please forgive us, these past weeks we have been inundated with requests. (Remember that we are all volunteers with other professions).
At present it should take about one week to receive an answer to your questions by e-mail and about 10 days to receive your booklets (in France).
How does a community become a candidate for a future «Couleurs locales» (Local Colours) event?
As an association we are able to intervene wherever needed, however our technical and other stipulations are quite demanding (traces of old ochre paints, sufficient number of work sites, presence of historical or prestigious monuments, satisfactory food and lodging for the volunteers…)!
So far nothing has been decided for 2011. You may formulate a request by sending us a dossier (with pictures) by mail.
Note that our association does not intervene on individual properties. Every intervention is a global project for a community as a whole.
How can one become a member of the association?
Is it possible to participate in a future «couleurs locales» intervention?
Our association is small (120 members). We want to keep it small and manageable.
However, if you like, we can keep you informed of future projects. Send us your contact information. But remember, nothing has been decided as yet for 2011.
Are there any associations in my area that could help me in my choice of colours?
There are a number of associations and services you can contact for assistance. In France : the CAUE - Conseil d’Architecture, d’Urbanisme et de l’Environnement (Council for Architecture, Urbanism and Environment), the SDAP - Départemental Service de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine (Departmental Service of Architecture and Patrimonial Heritage), or "Maisons Paysannes de France" (Rural Homes of France).
Can one apply ochre paint on wood that has been stained, or does the wood have to be pickled?
The wood has to be stripped of all coatings. The paint must be applied on raw wood.
Does blue ochre paint exist?
And green ochre paint?
No, blue ochre does not exist. Green ochre exists but is rare.
Is it possible to re-watch the programme of «des Racines et des Ailes», passion patrimoine, de l’Ardèche à la Bourgogne (Patrimonial passion from Ardèche to Burgundy)?
